Living with intention
I have been working as a mental health therapist for 20 years. I specialized in helping people of all ages navigate the inevitable changes that life requires of us. After years of providing services at a formal work place, I am now adding a private practice option for folks to work with me individually.
life is wonderful
It may be a benefit of wisdom gained from age (and yoga) that I have learned life is not always lived, instead, it is often just done (i.e. we often just go through the motions: go to work, go the grocery store, cook dinner, clean the kitchen, go to bed, wake up, repeat).
I’ve discovered, as millions before me, that living with greater attention and intention brings a deep peace which, in turn, opens the heart to the art of living.
I love to travel! I love getting to experience new places, new food, new people, new customs, new scenery – you name it, anything and everything travel offers, I love it!
For me, travel makes the world feel smaller, closer, more connected. Travel highlights that although we may have different customs and speak different languages, we are all very similar: we want to provide for our families, we want to engage with each other, and we want a good quality of life (and most of us like yummy food, too!).
Travel teaches us to be patient, to be resilient, and to be a respectful observer. Sometimes travel can pull us out of our comfort zone and challenge us to be more patient, resilient, and respectful.
And, maybe most importantly, travel allows us to recognize that we are not the center of the world – our way of living life (our customs, religion, food, etc.) is not the only way or even the best, or right, way of living life.
Travel broadens our perspective and enlightens our minds – this might be my favorite aspect of travel.
My travel page will be a work in progress for quite some time. I have back logs of trips I would like to share – but for now, my priority is to get my online yoga studio up and running!
