My Yoga Journey
After discovering and loving yoga in my early 20’s, I took a 30 year break from my practice. Why? Well, because of the usual suspects: I was busy going to school, raising my daughter, and starting and maintaining my career.
I rediscovered yoga at the age of 52 and in this discovery, I found a powerful practice that I didn’t know my life was missing. In a nutshell, my yoga practice made me feel good!
Dedicating myself to my (almost) daily practice has allowed me to feel more like me again. I am able to move better (fetching dog toys from under the couch isn’t so hard anymore!), think better (more clarity, less scattered), and generally feel better in my own skin walking through life.
I feel good in my body, in my mind, and in my soul.
As I committed to my daily practice, I began to realize that this was something I wanted to share with others. This was the point at which I felt drawn to become a yoga teacher. I earned my teacher training certificate at the Soma Yoga Institute in Arcata, California. I really loved and appreciated the therapeutic lens through which they structured their training.
My personal mission in teaching yoga is to provide space for all people to explore the bountiful gifts that yoga can offer to each and every one of us.
I believe that practicing yoga allows us to thrive and flourish, to be strong and resilient, and to lead our lives with more compassion, mindfulness, and authenticity.
I strive to share yoga with others by making yoga inclusive and accessible in an alignment-focused, gentle, and nourishing way.
